The Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) unites chief fire officers, fire science professionals, and emergency services practitioners from every nation across the Caribbean. Formerly known as CACDACFO, CAFC is a collective of fire service administrators, chiefs, and senior officers dedicated to enhancing emergency response capabilities and resilience—mirroring the operational structures and objectives of similar organizations in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other developed regions.
Inaugurated on September 17, 2001, at the Trinidad and Tobago Hilton Conference Room under the auspices of the Honorable Prime Minister Basdeo Panday, CAFC's core mission is to reduce loss of life, prevent personal injury, and minimize property and environmental damage. We achieve this by promoting the highest standards in firefighting, rescue operations, fire protection, and prevention.
Established after more than 20 years of careful planning, CAFC is committed to advancing coordinated training programs, fostering forums for constructive dialogue, and applying 21st-century principles.
Our organization serves as a hub for the exchange of information and shared experiences among fire service, emergency services, and disaster management professionals throughout the Caribbean, while also offering expert advice, leadership, mentorship, research, and professional support to our members and partner organizations.
To prevent and minimize the loss of life, personal injury, damage to property and the environment, by promoting the best practices in firefighting, emergency medical services, fire protection, fire prevention, and search and rescue.
